DOCX Amendment Toolkit
Support
DOCX Amendment Toolkit is a Word add-in that converts amendment
formatting in DOCX files — tracked changes, strikethrough / underline markup,
[[bracket]] deletions, and auto-numbering. All processing runs locally;
documents are never uploaded.
Quick start
- Open your document in Word (desktop or Word on the web).
- Home tab → DOCX Amendment Toolkit → Open toolkit.
- Tick “I'm working on a copy” to enable the conversion buttons. The add-in
edits the open document; Office add-ins can't use Ctrl+Z — use the pane's
Revert last conversion button to restore the previous state.
- Choose a conversion:
- ① Tracked changes → strikethrough / underline
- ② Strikethrough / underline → tracked changes
- ③ Make clean copy
- ④ Auto-numbering → plain text
- Check the report panel for exactly what changed.
Frequently asked questions
- Where is my document sent? Nowhere. Everything is processed locally
in your own Word session; nothing is uploaded.
- Can I undo with Ctrl+Z? No — Office add-ins can't join Word's undo
history. Use Revert last conversion in the task pane instead.
- What does “Selection only” do? Converts just the selected text.
Keep (or re-select) the converted text before pressing Revert.
- How do the
[[brackets]] work? Small deletions
(up to 5 characters) written as [[x]] are treated as deletions in
conversions ② and ③.
